HEALTH BENEFITS OF FINGER MILLET:

  1. Millets are cereal crops and small seed grasses which are widely used in African and Asian countries.

RECIPES FOR YOU

 

  1. Millet cakes

Ingredients :
-1 ½ cups Millet flour               -1 small Butter                -2 cups Maida               -6 Eggs            -1 tsp Baking powder                -1 tsp Vanilla essence      -2 cups Sugar

 Method:
Add 1 small butter together with 2 cups of sugar and mix it well. Then mix the dry ingredients in another bowl (1 ½ cups millet, 2 cups maida, 1 tsp baking powder). Then, scoop the dried ingredients in the mixture and mix it well. Continue this process until the dried ingredients is finished. Then add 1 tsp of vanilla essence. Lastly, our the mixture into the baking pot, then bake it in oven at 30 minutes, 1400C.

2. Millet Pu Khleiñ

Ingredients :
-3 cups Millet flour                               -5 cups Maida                               -2 cups Sugar               -1 tsp Baking powder                              -20gm Refined oil

Method:
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add sugar in the mixture and beat it together. Add water to make a paste. Then, heat the pan with oil in it. Then make the mixture into a round shape and fry it till it becomes golden brown. Serve it well!

 


3. Millet Pu Sla 

Ingredients :
-3 cups Millet flour             -2 ½ cups Atta          -1 tsp Baking powder       -30gms of jiggery

Method:
Mix the dry ingredients together. Mix it well. Heat the jiggery and mix it together with the dry ingredients till it becomes a paste. Then, make the mixture into a rectangular shape and place it in a leaf and then wrap it. Repeat the process. Then steam it in a rice cooker.

 


4. Millet pancake

Ingredients:
-2 cups millet pancake                       -1 ½ cup maida                           -1 litre of milk
-2 cups sugar                                        -1 small butter                           -1 tsp baking powder

Method:
Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Then mix sugar and butter in a separate bowl to a paste. Then add together the dry ingredients in a mixture. Mix it well. Then add milk to the mixture and mix it well. Repeat the process till the mixture becomes smooth. Then heat the pan, fry the mixture into small round shapes. Serve it well.

 

 


5. Millet banana pancake

Ingredients:
-2 cups millet pancake              – 1 ½ cup maida               -1 litre of milk
-2 cups sugar                                -1 small butter                 -1 tsp baking powder

Method:
Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Then mix sugar and butter in a separate bowl to a paste. Then add together the dry ingredients in a mixture. Mix it well. Grind the banana pieces to a paste and add to the mixture. Add milk to the mixture and mix it well. Repeat the process till the mixture becomes smooth. Then heat the pan, fry the mixture into small round shapes. Serve it well.
